Ongoing Projects
TRACT has been working towards conservation of tiger and its habitat through the following activities
- Mitigating man - large carnivore conflict outside protected areas
- Mitigating political, biological and social constraints to tiger conservation
- Expanding the level of tiger protection beyond protected boundaries
- Survey for availability and connectivity of suitable tiger habitat
- Monitor large carnivore populations and tiger-human conflict
- Field training workshops for the forest department ground personnel
- Survey of anthropogenic and biotic pressures exerted on the reserve
- Motivating Tiger Reserve staff by providing achievement rewards
- Making the protected areas more inviolate
- Support local communities in the process of relocating from tiger habitat
- Network with organizations and individuals involved with tiger conservation
